This vs That. Learning to tell the difference and why it matters.

Something I’ve been learning (sometimes the hard way) is how different two things can feel even if they sound the same.

Here are a few I used to mix up:

Nice vs Kind
Nice is about being agreeable. Kind is about being generous.
One wants to be liked. The other wants to care.

Hard Work vs Friction
Hard work builds. Friction drains.
Progress doesn’t always have to feel like a grind.

Easy vs Ease
Easy is the shortcut. Ease is what happens when things are in alignment.

Busy vs Productive
Busy clutters your calendar. Productive fills your cup.

Certainty vs Confidence
Certainty needs guarantees. Confidence is moving forward anyway.

Change vs Growth
Change is inevitable. Growth is intentional
